Heat Decarbonisation Plans for the public estate – our strategy stage support

The first step in developing a Heat Decarbonisation Plan (HDP) is to establish a strategy to reach net zero. This will help your organisation to secure decision maker and stakeholder buy-in, and prioritise buildings to take forward to the next stages of your decarbonisation journey.

In this context, we have partnered with Energy Systems Catapult, Salix, and the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero to develop a set of two new strategy-stage templates. These include an Excel-based Data Capture Form and a Word-based Heat Decarbonisation Strategy Template. The former sets outs a clear format for important data and building information to be collected. The latter brings together the key elements to be considered at strategy stage. You can access and download the templates here:

The Hub has an established team working directly with public sector organisations in the region to decarbonise their estate. Our team is ready to support you to work through the templates and advise on next steps. We can also help with applications to funding schemes such as the Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) – if a future phase is announced.

Please get in touch if you would like to benefit from our support. Note that, if demand for support is high, you may be placed on a waiting list.
